BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Manage all Product Engineering department activities to maintain existing Kubota products and lead to the release of new products in the U.S. market. Provide leadership to drive improvements in engineering skills and processes.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
- Supervise and prioritize projects of the Engineering team to meet project deadlines
- Manage employees within team including, but not limited to, hiring, managing performance, training, coaching, and distributing and reviewing work. Coach to improve performance and career development. Work with teams across all functions to ensure timely project execution.
- Review and approve CAD drawings and manufacturing plans.
- Coordinate resources and priorities between projects and fill in gaps as needed.
- Train and mentor engineering team on aspects of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Lead the team in the development of attachments, implements, and accessories for all assigned products to increase revenue.
- Lead the team for the new product release engineering workflow for KTC.
- Other duties/projects as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Ag Engineering or related field required.
- At least 7 years related product or test engineering experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge/expertise in agricultural, turf, and construction equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of markets where Kubota products are sold and related industries.
- Product development background using Lean Principles.
- Develop cultures of continuous improvement, safety, and long-term planning.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to climb on and move around equipment to demonstrate, repair and/or modify equipment.
