JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a heavy duty diesel mechanic to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment including Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities

The diesel mechanic will provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
The diesel mechanic will perform general and detailed repair on truck engines and components.
The diesel mechanic will perform general and detailed repair on semi-trailer and components.
The diesel mechanic will have a working knowledge of electrical computer systems, including diagnostics and programming.
The diesel mechanic will overhaul gas or diesel engines.
The diesel mechanic will install and replace: injector’s, pistons liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, DOC & DPF units, differentials, fifth wheels, chassis components, brakes, HVAC system, change and replace transmissions and other parts of the operating system.
The diesel mechanic will observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
The diesel mechanic will lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
The diesel mechanic will keep abreast of technical bulletins.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Able to travel to multiple locations within a 3 hour service area in a company supplied vehicle.
Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required. A Valid Driver’s License is required.
Basic hand tools, impact and sockets and toolbox are required.

Diesel engine repair: 3 years (Required)
Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
