Painter I at Ditch Witch:
This employee is responsible for the management and maintenance of the paint blackening system. The primary functions require overseeing the operation of the oxide coating process, monitoring the chemical balances, and adjusting process parameters, as needed, to maintain optimal production performance.
What Will You Do?
Observe and maintain chemical balances to ensure quality and production flow.
Implement process improvements to improve safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Operate and manage a blackening system for peak production performance.
Read and maintain test equipment for chemical concentration levels.
Adjust chemical concentrations and calibrate testing equipment.
Monitor system gauges and record data.
Identify and address equipment issues, coordinating necessary maintenance.
Understand and adjust industrial control and automation systems and system parameters.
Troubleshoot process issues and propose solutions to support production.
Support GPM Maintenance with equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
Use computer systems for part tracking, inventory management, and recording.
Load and manage parts to be submerged in different chemical baths for finishing.
Inspect finished parts to maintain product quality.
Clean and maintain tanks, equipment and various tools used.
Cultivate positive relationships with coworkers, customers, clients, and supervisors.
Meet or exceed expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, and safety.
What Will You Need?
Experience in operating blackening equipment for part finishing.
Proficiency in basic mechanical skills and use of repair tools.
Strong reading and clerical skills.
Ability to lift and handle parts weighing more than 60 pounds.
Demonstrated reliability, safety awareness, performance, and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt).
Relatively hot, humid conditions
Physical hazards: powered vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, and materials handling.
Working with hazardous materials, including acids, cleaners and oils.
