Available Shift:
E shift (Monday through Thursday) 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Day to day functions include maintenance & calibration of testing equipment. Including producing schedule for gauge calibration.
- Test gauges for compliance and conformation of drawing and/or standard.
- Perform instrument calibration/verification and work with external calibration sources to ensure all gauges maintain a current calibration status. Ensure Calibration Labs are accredited.
- Maintain control of calibration tracking program. Maintain records of tests conducted.
- Use calibration system for calibration records, standards, measurements and procedures.
- Conduct technical analysis of problems to determine the root cause of quality/product problems related to gauging equipment. Review, investigate, disposition and resolve non-conforming issues related to gauges.
- Assist Quality Engineer with the completing and managing GR&R schedule and master parts.
- Use statistical tools to analyze data, make acceptance decisions, and improve process capability. (Example: linear regression, cross and linear studies etc.)
- Provide support to process operators to help resolve non-conforming issues affecting product fit, form or function as it relates to gauges.
- Recommend modifications to existing gauges and standards, methods, and procedures or suggest new standards, methods and procedures that offer more control.
- Write Equipment Operation work instructions.
- Train Inspectors and Operators in the use gauges and final release of gauging standard. Assist or create methodology scheme.
- Audit and support production lines for gauge handling and usage.
- Utilize effective communication and problem solving skills to foster an effective team environment, which strives for product quality, job productivity, safe working environment, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in technical field or equivalent experience required, with preference in inspection, engineering, or machinist background.
- Ability to set up and run an in plant Calibration system. Ability to make judgment decisions about actions needed to ensure gauges maintain their status of calibration.
- Advance level experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, Vision Systems and other measuring devices. Ability to create a methodology of measurement scheme for new items that must be measured.
- Analytical ability required to measure trends for systemic problems and ability to utilize SPC software.
- TS16949 / ISO14001 environment preferred.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Intermediate or greater level computer skills. Must be a self-starter with new computer software.
- Requires ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment to ensure individual and departmental objectives are accomplished.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including but not limited to GD&T.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
