What you will do
Purpose/Description
Working as an Incoming Quality Engineer for Mack Trucks you will be a liaison with our Internal Suppliers, Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Quality and our Material Inspection area. We are at the start of the Quality process at the plant, securing full and quick support to our assembly line on Internal supplier quality related issues! We play a key role in the activities and processes that help the production to run effectively and efficiently in order to ship quality trucks on time.
Under general direction, responsible for measuring and analyzing quality standards, ensure and execute compliance on every stage of the process. Support on performing complex inspections and sets quality standards for materials, in-process and finished products. Develops methods for testing, sampling, and training. Maintains procedures and presents summary reports on failures, analysis, and corrective actions. Liaise with external/internal vendors, contractors or suppliers to ensure that their products or services meet the organization's quality standards.
Core Responsibilities

• Liaise with external/internal vendors, contractors or suppliers to ensure that their products or services meet the organization's quality standards
• Develop and implement quality assurance processes and tools
• Write and revise standard operating procedures
• Support and facilitate audits and regulatory inspections
• Support quality training coordination
• Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other quality problems that adversely affect plant operations. To fulfill this responsibility the Quality Engineer shall apply:
o Data analysis techniques
o Root-Cause Analysis methods
o Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action Systems

• Strong understanding of best practice quality tools
• Strong problem solver/decision maker, ability to take a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles, resistance or ambiguity
• Able to demonstrated knowledge of quality standards and the manufacturing business. Organization and ability to utilize policies, practices, trends, and tactics to accomplish business objectives
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools; process oriented
• Proven ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements to the assembly operation
• Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrated focus on process and Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Blueprint reading
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio
• Knowledge of Paint process and paint related defects is a plus (not mandatory)

• Technically oriented; strong working knowledge of automotive operations

• Ability to develop strong working relationships with team members, peers, and management at all levels
Minimum Education And Experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from a four-year college or university
• At least 5 years of experience in the Automotive/Heavy Equipment Industry, including 03 years in a quality role
• Good knowledge of the automotive product and assembly processes, including body-in-white, painting, assembly process, quality gates, etc.
• CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and /or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
