Position Summary
The Farm Equipment Operator performs general farm tasks as directed, such as safely operating and maintaining the operational condition of various types of farm equipment to efficiently perform tasks.
Essential Position Duties
· Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on the farm equipment and building systems
· Operates payloaders, tractors, skid steers, and other modern-day farm equipment
· Clean barn waters
· Operate alley scraper equipment
· Stall leveling
· Safely and efficiently open/close gates and doors ensuring no damage to equipment or facilities
· Clean and maintain facilities and equipment
· Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and utilizes appropriate safety equipment at all times
· Ensure the highest standards of the humane treatment of animals
· Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Mechanically minded individual who can trouble-shoot problems and is comfortable repairing and maintaining equipment and buildings
- Experience operating farm equipment such as payloaders, tractors, and skid steers
- Strong communications skills
- Problem solver
- Independently motivated / team oriented
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow written and oral directions
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
Experience servicing and operating large farm equipment
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 100 lbs frequently
· Variations in workloads, 50-75 hours per week
(Occasionally: 1-25% of the time; frequently: 26-75% of the time; constantly: 76-100
