Summary
As an Equipment Operator at J.W. Fowler, you will play a pivotal role in operating various heavy machinery to support our infrastructure projects. This position is essential to maintaining our commitment to quality and efficiency while ensuring the safe and effective execution of construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment , backhoes, bulldozers, and front loaders safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of soil types and knowledge of shoring, bracing and sloping.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Excavate and grade land according to project specifications using various machinery.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure project timelines are met while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Familiarity with various types of machinery including backhoes, bulldozers, and front loaders.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices related to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow project specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and safety.
- Valid operator's license or certification for heavy machinery operation is preferred.
