Maintenance Shop Superintendent:
Position Description
The shop superintendent is responsible for overseeing shop employees and ensuring that all work is completed correct and efficiently. The shop superintendent shall have strong leadership skills, knowledge of the industry and be able to communicate with field personnel.
The shop Superintendent will assist in hiring and training of shop employees, monitors work activity, works with management and superintendents on equipment needs, orders parts and supplies and enforces rules and regulations associated with the shop and yard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and manages employee schedule and assigns duties to shop employees.
Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop and yard.
Oversees daily work of employees.
Creates cost estimate for major repairs including labor, parts and explanation for repairs.
Maintains and enters work records, files and job information into computer database.
Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards.
Provides employee training and assists in repair as needed.
Warns, disciplines employees not working to company standards.
Ensures that all deadlines are met. If not met provide reason.
Oversees move trucks and helps coordinate moving of equipment.
Addresses and investigates complaints on equipment operation, damage and neglect.
Ensures that shop and yard area are clean and organized.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of Heavy Construction or equivalent supervisory shop experience required.
Knowledge of heavy and light construction equipment repair including hydraulics and electrical.
Work Environment:
•Most working hours will be spent in the Salina shop overseeing repairs and maintenance.
•45-hour workweek applies, though overtime may be necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
