SUMMARY:
We need a heavy duty diesel mechanic for our fast past growing business. We pay between $25-$40 per hour with Health Insurance, 401k and PTO. No nights, weekends or Holidays, so that time is for you! We perfer 5 years experience, but will consider 3 years. Please have this requirement.
This position is located at Acela Truck Company production facilities in Bozeman, Montana. ATC’s primary business is the refurbishment (“resetting”) of military wheeled vehicles. Acela is a very fast-paced and forward-leaning, process-driven company that embraces clear communication and lean manufacturing principals, including the ability for all employees to contribute to his/her own successes and work environment. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, disassembly, reassembly and/or overhaul of special purpose vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years heavy truck experience
- Military vehicle experience a plus
- Able to trouble-shoot hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Able to read and understand schematic documentation.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct the CAT-ET on all incoming vehicles
- Reviews In-coming Inspection Sheet for all defects that need to be repaired, and parts that must be ordered. Responsible for completing reacquisition form for the parts required.
- Following the Inspection / Test Drive form conduct initial test drive and complete the form. Note any parts that are defect and add to the reacquisition form.
- Using the Build Checklist tear down and replace the service parts / fluids as noted.
- Review the Production Router and install mechanical equipment as note i.e. high-speed gears, engine enhancements etc.
- Trouble shoot any problems with vehicle systems. Including CTIS
- Removes and disassembles major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems in accordance with the proper specifications and procedures. Reassembles and reinstalls assemblies and components in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Makes adjustments and repairs to electrical, suspension, air and hydraulic systems.
- Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair / rebuild status.
- Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools and equipment.
- Works closely with the Mechanic Manager to coordinate schedule and advises if additional repair work is necessary.
- Participates in removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems found on heavy duty vehicles. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to new employees within the team. Assists new technicians in performing work that is assigned.
- Conducts readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the Acela Truck Company Incoming Vehicle Inspection Sheet, and the Acela Truck Company Complete Build Checklist, and other documentation as required.
- Assists in the maintenance of production reports and records and makes recommendations to the Production Manager. Plans, organizes, and performs technical analyses as required or assigned. Makes recommendations to the Production Manager as to adjustments necessary to effectively, efficiently and economically accomplish the work and maximize production, safety and precision.
- Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment, parts and components, using hoists, lifts, winches, jacks, torches and hand tools.
- Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using various measuring equipment as required.
- Operates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Immerses parts in tanks of solvent or sprays parts with grease solvent to clean parts.
- Documents / corrects installation procedures using Dozuki Software and tablets as required
- Performs ALL duties to minimum standards as established by the Company, various technical manuals, manufacturer guidelines, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
